#Coolie takes a lead of Rs. 70 crores over #War2 at the worldwide box office

Rajinikanth's 'Coolie' Storms Ahead of 'War 2' in Massive Advance Booking Showdown

#Coolie takes a lead of Rs. 70 crores over #War2 at the worldwide box office; #Rajinikanth ready to conquer the throne

Superstar Rajinikanth's upcoming film, "Coolie," has surged ahead of the much-anticipated "War 2," starring Hrithik Roshan and Jr. NTR, in a stunning display of pre-release box office dominance.

Reports indicate that "Coolie" has established a significant lead in worldwide advance bookings, with some outlets on August 12, 2025, reporting the figure to be a staggering Rs. 85 crore and rapidly approaching the Rs. 100 crore mark.

This places it significantly ahead of "War 2," for which early advance booking figures were reported to be considerably lower.

The phenomenal response to "Coolie" has led to declarations that Rajinikanth is poised to "conquer the throne" of the box office. The film, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, is not just outperforming its direct competitor but is also setting new benchmarks.

The advance bookings for "Coolie" have been described as a "box office hurricane," with the film showing unprecedented demand both in India and international markets.

As of August 9, reports had already placed "Coolie's" worldwide advance booking lead over "War 2" at Rs. 47 crores.

The gap has evidently widened since then, fueled by tremendous excitement for the collaboration between Rajinikanth and the hit-making director Lokesh Kanagaraj. The film has shattered records in North America, becoming the first Tamil film to cross the $2 million mark in premiere pre-sales.

In India, the advance ticket sales for "Coolie" have been astronomical, with over 9 lakh tickets sold as of August 12, amounting to a gross of over Rs. 19.68 crore without including blocked seats.

In contrast, "War 2," despite its star-studded cast, has had a slower start in advance sales, particularly in the Hindi belt.[1] As of August 12, "War 2" had sold approximately 1.2 lakh tickets in India for its opening day, with a gross of Rs. 4.19 crore.

Trade analysts are pointing to Rajinikanth's immense star power and the strong buzz around "Coolie" as the primary drivers for its remarkable pre-release success.

While "War 2" is expected to see a surge in bookings, especially with the opening of advances in the Telugu market, it faces a colossal challenge to catch up to the monumental lead established by "Coolie."

The stage is set for a historic box office clash, with Rajinikanth's "Coolie" currently in a commanding position to claim a massive opening.
