Rashmika Mandanna and Vijay Deverakonda to Lead NYC's India Day Parade
New York - Actors Rashmika Mandanna and Vijay Deverakonda are set to celebrate India's 79th Independence Day in New York City, where they will serve as the Grand Marshals for the 43rd annual India Day Parade.
The duo, who are rumored to be in a relationship, arrived in the city and were warmly welcomed by representatives at the Consulate General of India on August 15th.
This marks a significant public appearance for the popular on-screen pair, who will headline the grand parade down Madison Avenue on Sunday, August 17, 2025.
The event, organized by the Federation of Indian Associations (FIA), is billed as the largest Independence Day celebration outside of India and is expected to draw a massive crowd from the Indian diaspora.
The theme for this year's parade is "Sarve Bhavantu Sukhinah," a global initiative for universal well-being. In video messages shared during a curtain-raiser event in June, both actors expressed their excitement and honor at being chosen to lead the festivities.
Their joint appearance is their first in years, adding to the anticipation surrounding the event.
The weekend of celebrations includes a flag-hoisting ceremony and various cultural events.
