In a touching gesture, actress Taapsee Pannu and her husband, badminton player Mathias Boe, recently celebrated a special post-wedding homecoming.
The couple, who have been associated with the NGO 'Nanhi Kali' for several years, were warmly welcomed by the women and girls of the organization in what marked their first visit since their marriage.
Pannu took to Instagram to share a video of the heartwarming reception, where she and Boe were honored with a traditional ceremony.
The women at the NGO performed a ritual for the couple, one that is typically observed when a newly married woman returns to her roots for the first time.
In the video, the couple is seen being garlanded with marigolds and showered with sweets and fruits.
In a voiceover for the video, Pannu expressed her gratitude, saying, "Waise toh main aur Mathias in ladkiyon se aur inke parivaroon se kaafi saalon se judein hue hain… but this visit was special" (Although Mathias and I have been connected with these girls and their families for many years... this visit was special).
She added that she and her husband hadn't realized it was their first visit to the 'Nanhi Kali' girls after getting married, but the women there reminded them and performed a beautiful ceremony.
Taapsee Pannu and Mathias Boe, who had been in a long-term relationship, tied the knot in an intimate ceremony in Udaipur on March 23, 2024.
The wedding was a private affair, attended by close friends and family, with a blend of Sikh and Christian rituals reflecting the couple's diverse backgrounds.
Among the few celebrity guests were director Anurag Kashyap and actor Pavail Gulati.
The actress has been vocal about her desire to keep her personal life, including her wedding, away from public scrutiny.
In interviews, she has stated that while she signed up for a public life, her partner and their families did not.
While some videos and pictures from the wedding festivities were leaked online, the couple themselves have shared very little on social media.
Pannu later revealed that they had officially registered their marriage in December 2023.
The heartwarming homecoming at the NGO offered a rare and intimate glimpse into the couple's new life together, resonating with fans and followers.
