Ramya Krishnan Celebrates 56th Birthday with David Reddy Poster Reveal

Ramya Krishnan turned 56 on September 15, and the makers of David Reddy decided that was the perfect moment to hand fans her first-look poster from the film — a move that instantly did double duty as a birthday tribute and a promotional beat.

Manchu Manoj, who leads the period action drama, shared the poster himself with an unmistakably warm note: "One look. The entire frame belongs to her," followed by "Happy Birthday to the phenomenal @meramyakrishnan garu! Your presence, your fire, your command over a scene… an absolute privilege to share the screen with you!"

The poster introduces Ramya Krishnan's character, Kamala Reddy (also being written as "Kamalareddy" across some trade coverage), and it's every bit as intense as fans have come to expect from her post-Sivagami era.

She's shown sword in hand, standing over a blood-soaked battlefield strewn with bodies — an image several outlets are already comparing to, and in some takes even ranking above, her iconic Baahubali look. The accompanying caption, "Born in the Madras Presidency, Raised in Delhi. Now, shaking the British empire. Rebellion begins…", firmly places Kamala Reddy inside India's freedom struggle, aligning with the film's period action-drama setting.

David Reddy is directed by Hanuma Reddy Yakkanti and is being positioned as a pan-India release, with the cast also including Ukrainian actor Maria Riabhoshapka as a character named Clara Whitmore. With the makers clearly using Ramya Krishnan's birthday as a strategic reveal date rather than a coincidence, expect the remaining first-look posters — including Manchu Manoj's own — to roll out on similarly newsworthy occasions. For now, this is trade-confirmed via the makers' own social posts, so the character details can be treated as solid rather than speculative.

Key Highlights

  • Ramya Krishnan turned 56 on September 15, 2026, and the makers of David Reddy used the occasion to release her first-look poster
  • Lead actor Manchu Manoj shared the poster with a personal birthday note calling her presence and command over a scene an "absolute privilege" to share
  • Ramya Krishnan plays Kamala Reddy (also styled "Kamalareddy"), shown wielding a sword amid a blood-soaked battlefield look that's gone viral
  • The poster caption — "Born in the Madras Presidency, Raised in Delhi. Now, shaking the British empire. Rebellion begins…" — ties her character to India's freedom struggle
  • David Reddy is a period action drama directed by Hanuma Reddy Yakkanti, with Manchu Manoj in the lead
  • The cast also includes Ukrainian actor Maria Riabhoshapka, playing a character named Clara Whitmore
  • The film is being planned as a pan-India release
  • Several trade outlets are already comparing Ramya Krishnan's fierce avatar here to her landmark Sivagami role in the Baahubali franchise

Samantha Ruth Prabhu Shares Joyful Baby Shower Rituals at Isha Foundation

Samantha Ruth Prabhu has given fans a rare, intimate window into her baby shower, and true to form, she's turned it into a moment of spiritual storytelling rather than just a photo dump.

The actor shared glimpses from a traditional ceremony held at Sadhguru's Isha Foundation in Coimbatore with her director-husband Raj Nidimoru, timed to surface on Ganesh Chaturthi (September 14), and the internet has been in a loop ever since.

What sets this apart from a standard celebrity baby shower post is Samantha's explanation of the ritual itself. She detailed the Kalaa Aavarana ceremony from the Srividya tradition, describing how it honors the 94 kalas of Devi through the seven chakras of the mother-to-be, involving holy water, mantras, the recitation of the Sri Chakra Yantram, and the Devi Khadgamaala — a prayer invoking different deities and divine energies. Some reports describe the broader function using the Srikalpam name, so expect minor variation in how different outlets label the exact ceremony type; Kirakposter is going with Samantha's own description as the primary source.

The pictures also show Raj Nidimoru being playfully drenched in pearls and petals, alongside candid frames with Samantha's friend Shilpa Reddy and Neeraja Kona. Samantha closed her post by thanking everyone involved in the puja and blessings for her baby.

This continues a pattern for the couple, who married at the same Isha Foundation campus in December 2025 and have leaned on the space throughout Samantha's pregnancy journey, including a solo visit she spoke about just last week. Samantha announced her pregnancy in June 2026 and is expecting her first child with Raj in December. Given how private the couple has otherwise kept this chapter, the detailed ritual explainer feels like a deliberate, meaningful share rather than incidental celebrity content.

Key Highlights

  • Samantha Ruth Prabhu shared baby shower photos and videos from a traditional ceremony at Sadhguru's Isha Foundation, Coimbatore, posted on Ganesh Chaturthi (September 14, 2026)
  • The ceremony followed the Kalaa Aavarana ritual from the Srividya tradition, honoring the 94 kalas of Devi across the seven chakras of the mother-to-be
  • Rituals included holy water, mantras, recitation of the Sri Chakra Yantram, and the Devi Khadgamaala prayer of deities and divine energies
  • Photos showed husband Raj Nidimoru being drenched in pearls and petals, plus candid moments with friends Shilpa Reddy and Neeraja Kona
  • Samantha thanked everyone who performed the puja and blessings for her baby in her closing post
  • The couple married at the same Isha Foundation campus in December 2025; Samantha has repeatedly described the centre as personally significant during her pregnancy
  • Samantha announced her pregnancy in June 2026 and is expecting her first child with Raj Nidimoru in December
  • Kirakposter notes some outlets refer to the same event by the broader Srikalpam name — minor naming variation across trade reports, not conflicting facts

Rajamouli, Mahesh Babu Reveal Varanasi's Emotional

SS Rajamouli and Mahesh Babu are turning every recent chat about Varanasi into a fresh reason for fans to stay glued to the timeline, and the latest round of insights is arguably the most personal yet.

Rajamouli has now revealed that beneath the time-travel spectacle, Antarctica and Africa shoot schedules, and a reported ₹1,400 crore canvas, the film's real spine is a father-son bond — specifically the relationship between Mahesh Babu's Rudhra and Prakash Raj's character, who previously played the star's father in Dookudu and Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu. It's a smart narrative anchor:

Rajamouli is essentially promising that the Ramayana-era detour, where Mahesh Babu doubles as Lord Rama, won't feel like a mythology tangent bolted onto an adventure plot, but an extension of that emotional thread.

Earlier interviews add texture to this picture. Rajamouli has spoken about being surprised not by Mahesh Babu's acting — he expected that — but by his on-set discipline, right down to leaving his phone in the car before stepping onto set. Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Mahesh have separately opened up about a dance sequence already shot, with Rajamouli crediting encouragement from James Cameron after RRR's global run.

On the ground, production talk suggests the shoot is in its final stretch, with reports pegging it at roughly 90% complete and VFX work — including a major Ramayana battle sequence — already signed off by Rajamouli. A worldwide theatrical release on April 7, 2027 has been circulating, though Kirakposter recommends treating exact dates and budget figures as subject to revision until Sri Durga Arts issues a formal press note, given how frequently big-ticket Telugu productions push release windows.

With Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, and Prithviraj Sukumaran all publicly discussing the film in overlapping interviews this year, Varanasi is clearly entering its promotional ramp-up phase well ahead of release.

Key Highlights

  • SS Rajamouli reveals the father-son bond between Mahesh Babu's Rudhra and Prakash Raj's character is the emotional core of Varanasi, grounding the time-travel and Ramayana-era portions in a personal story
  • Mahesh Babu plays a dual role — Rudhra in the present day and Lord Rama in a Ramayana-era sequence featuring a large-scale battle episode
  • Rajamouli previously opened up about being struck by Mahesh Babu's on-set discipline, including a strict no-phone-on-set habit
  • Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Mahesh Babu have discussed an already-shot dance number; Rajamouli referenced encouraging words from James Cameron post-RRR
  • Shooting is reportedly in its final stages (around 90% complete per trade talk), with a key VFX-heavy Ramayana battle sequence already approved
  • Portions were filmed in Antarctica and Africa, reinforcing the "globetrotting adventure" scale Rajamouli has described
  • A worldwide theatrical release on April 7, 2027 has been reported, alongside a rumored ₹1,400 crore budget — Kirakposter flags both as trade-sourced/reported figures pending an official studio confirmation
  • Cast includes Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra Jonas (marking her return to Indian cinema), Prithviraj Sukumaran as antagonist Kumbha, and Prakash Raj, with music by M.M. Keeravaani

Sardar 2 Day 1 Box Office Collection – What to Expect?

Sardar 2 Box Office Day 1 Collection: Karthi’s Spy Thriller Eyes a Strong Opening

H2: Sardar 2 Day 1 Box Office Collection – What to Expect?

Sardar 2 is gearing up for its worldwide theatrical release on September 10, 2026, and the Karthi-led action thriller is already generating strong interest among South Indian moviegoers. Directed by P. S. Mithran, the sequel returns to the popular Sardar franchise with a new espionage-driven story and a larger-scale action setup.

As of September 8, the film has not yet completed its theatrical Day 1, so an official Day 1 box-office collection is not available. Therefore, any figure currently circulating online should be treated as an advance-booking figure or an early prediction, rather than the final Day 1 collection.

Raaka Release Date: Allu Arjun-Atlee Film Eyes Dec 2027

Allu Arjun and Atlee's much-awaited pan-India film Raaka (earlier known by its tentative title AA22xA6) is reportedly targeting a theatrical release on 3 December 2027, with the team currently ruling out any slip into 2028.

As per the latest industry buzz, the film has completed nearly two-thirds of its principal photography, and the remaining schedule — covering core action portions, song sequences, and patchwork shoots — is expected to wrap by the first quarter of 2027.

Notably, post-production on Raaka is said to be running simultaneously with the ongoing shoot rather than starting only after filming wraps, a strategy often used on VFX-heavy productions to manage tight timelines.

If the shoot does wrap on schedule in Q1 2027, the makers would be left with roughly 9 to 10 months for post-production before the reported December 2027 date — a window industry trackers consider workable for a film of this scale, given the extensive visual effects, action choreography, and international VFX vendors reportedly involved.

Directed by Atlee (known for Jawan and Bigil) and produced by Sun Pictures, Raaka marks Allu Arjun's first big-screen outing after the record-breaking success of Pushpa 2. The cast reportedly includes Deepika Padukone, Janhvi Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, and Mrunal Thakur in key roles, though the makers have stayed tight-lipped on full character details.

It's important to flag that Sun Pictures has not yet issued an official release-date confirmation — the December 2027 window, and specifically the 3 December date, remains based on trade and industry reports rather than a studio announcement.

Fans should watch for an official statement from Sun Pictures or Atlee before treating any specific date as final.

Key Highlights:

  • Raaka is reportedly targeting a 3 December 2027 theatrical release; no 2028 release is currently being planned by the team.
  • The shoot is roughly two-thirds complete; remaining work (action, songs, patchwork) is targeted to wrap by Q1 2027.
  • Post-production is running parallel to the shoot, giving the team an estimated 9–10 months of post-production time if the shoot wraps on schedule.
  • Directed by Atlee, produced by Sun Pictures; stars Allu Arjun alongside Deepika Padukone, Janhvi Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, Mrunal Thakur and others.
  • This is Allu Arjun's first film post Pushpa 2.
  • Note: Release date is not yet officially confirmed by the production house — treat as a reported/rumored timeline until an official announcement.

Mandaadi Movie Review

 Mandaadi (2026) — Review

Director Mathimaran Pugazhendhi (the guy behind Selfie) takes a genuine gamble here by setting his sports-action drama in the world of traditional sailboat racing — territory Tamil cinema hasn't really explored before. And that gamble mostly pays off.

What works:

Soori, playing Muthukaali, a fisherman caught up in a bitter rivalry over the "game of ropes," delivers what might be his most restrained and mature performance yet.

He's built a name on comedy, but here he leans into silence and quiet intensity rather than dialogue-heavy drama — and it lands. Suhas, making his Tamil debut as the antagonist, holds his own surprisingly well opposite Soori; there's real menace in how he carries himself.

The technical package is the film's biggest strength. Cinematography, sound design, and action choreography help the film rise above its more conventional storytelling. G.V. Prakash Kumar's score is getting singled out repeatedly as a highlight, and the boat-racing sequences — shot on open water — give the movie a genuinely fresh visual identity you don't often see in this genre. The climax race, in particular, seems to be winning people over; early audience reactions are calling it extraordinarily well-executed.

What doesn't:

The story itself doesn't take many risks. Critics have noted the narrative relies heavily on predictable sports tropes, and the flashback portion in particular seems to drag the pacing down. So if you're going in expecting a script as bold as its setting, temper that a bit — this is a familiar underdog/rivalry arc wearing a fresh coastal costume.

Bottom line:

It's a mixed-to-positive reception overall — critics are more measured (123telugu gave it 2.75/5), while first-day audience buzz on social media has been considerably warmer. If you go in for the boat-racing spectacle, Soori's performance, and the score, you'll likely walk out satisfied. Go in expecting a tightly-written script, and the predictability might bug you.

Worth a watch? Yes — especially on a big screen, since the ocean sequences are clearly the reason to catch this in theaters rather than wait for streaming.

Sardar 2 vs Mandaadi: Tamil Box Office Clash Sept 10

Sardar 2 vs Mandaadi: Karthi And Soori Clash At Tamil Box Office On September 10 Release

Tamil cinema is witnessing a genuine box-office face-off this week as Sardar 2, starring Karthi, and Mandaadi, headlined by Soori and Suhas, both hit theatres worldwide on September 10, 2026

The clash pits two very different films against each other — Karthi's high-budget spy action thriller against Soori's physically demanding, sea-based sports action drama — making it one of the most closely watched Kollywood releases of the year.

Sardar 2, directed by P. S. Mithran, is the sequel to the 2022 hit Sardar and sees Karthi reportedly playing a father-son double role as undercover agent Chandra Bose, going up against a formidable antagonist played by S. J. Suryah.

The film also features Malavika Mohanan, Ashika Ranganath, and Rajisha Vijayan, with music composed by Sam C.S.

Running close to three hours, it arrives as Karthi looks for a much-needed comeback following a string of underperforming releases.

Mandaadi, on the other hand, has emerged as the surprise front-runner in the advance booking race. Shot almost entirely on open water, the film leans heavily on Soori's physically intense performance and has been generating strong buzz following its trailer release just days before launch.

In Tamil Nadu advance bookings, Mandaadi reportedly pulled ahead with around ₹94.56 lakh against Sardar 2's ₹78.89 lakh, even as Sardar 2 held a stronger edge in national multiplex chains and logged faster real-time ticket sales on platforms like BookMyShow.

With both films drawing solid pre-release interest — Mandaadi crossing 134,000-plus interested users and Sardar 2 close behind at over 113,000 — trade watchers expect the coming days to reveal a clearer picture of which film wins the audience battle. Either way, this clash marks one of the more competitive Tamil box-office weekends of 2026.

Key Highlights

  • Release Date: Both Sardar 2 and Mandaadi released worldwide on September 10, 2026
  • Sardar 2 Genre: Spy action thriller, sequel to 2022's Sardar, directed by P. S. Mithran
  • Sardar 2 Cast: Karthi (reported father-son double role), S. J. Suryah, Malavika Mohanan, Ashika Ranganath, Rajisha Vijayan
  • Mandaadi Genre: Sea-based sports action drama, shot almost entirely on open water
  • Mandaadi Cast: Soori and Suhas in lead roles
  • Advance Bookings (Tamil Nadu): Mandaadi led with ₹94.56 lakh vs Sardar 2's ₹78.89 lakh
  • National Chains: Sardar 2 reportedly held the edge over Mandaadi in bookings outside Tamil Nadu
  • BookMyShow Interest: Mandaadi at 134K+ interested users; Sardar 2 close behind at 113K+
  • Ticket Sales Momentum: Sardar 2 logged faster real-time sales in some 24-hour windows despite trailing in early advances
  • Language Expansion: Sardar 2 is also releasing in dubbed versions across other South Indian languages
  • Stakes: Karthi looks for a comeback hit after recent box-office misses; Soori eyes his first major commercial success

Varanasi Movie: Rajamouli's Epic Set For April 2027 Release

Varanasi Nears Finish Line: SS Rajamouli's Mahesh Babu Epic Locks April 2027 Release

SS Rajamouli's most ambitious project yet, Varanasi, is finally approaching the finish line, with the makers targeting an April 2027 theatrical release.

The Telugu-language action-adventure epic stars Mahesh Babu as Rudhra, alongside Priyanka Chopra Jonas as Mandakini and Prithviraj Sukumaran as Kumbha, in what is being billed as one of the most expensive and technically ambitious Indian films ever mounted, with a reported budget crossing ₹1,400 crore.

Rajamouli recently confirmed that the film's biggest and most demanding action spectacles have already been completed, with the crew now focused on shooting the smaller, character-driven scenes that connect the larger narrative.

According to the director, roughly 80 days of shooting remained as of mid-2026, with principal photography expected to wrap by late September or early October 2026.

This clears the runway for an intense post-production phase, which will include large-scale VFX work, sound design, and a background score by Oscar-winning composer M.M. Keeravani, who is expected to begin work on the film's music in September 2026.

Adding to the anticipation, Rajamouli has confirmed that Varanasi will not be split into multiple parts, unlike early speculation suggested. Instead, audiences will get a single, complete cinematic experience running close to three hours, including a much-talked-about thirty-minute battle sequence.

The film is also being crafted with IMAX presentation in mind, and its release is expected to coincide with the return of IMAX screens to Hyderabad — a detail Rajamouli has spoken about enthusiastically given the city's massive movie-going culture.

While hoardings across the city of Varanasi itself teased April 7, 2027 as the release date in a unique marketing push, the makers are also weighing potential clashes with other major 2027 releases before locking the date officially. Either way, with production entering its final stretch, Varanasi is shaping up to be one of Indian cinema's biggest global spectacles yet.

Key Highlights

  • Targeted Release Date: April 2027 (April 7, 2027 has been widely teased via city-wide marketing)
  • Director: S.S. Rajamouli, marking his first collaboration with Mahesh Babu
  • Lead Cast: Mahesh Babu (Rudhra), Priyanka Chopra Jonas (Mandakini), Prithviraj Sukumaran (Kumbha)
  • Shooting Status: All major action spectacles are complete; only smaller connecting scenes remain
  • Shoot Wrap Timeline: Expected to finish by late September or early October 2026
  • Runtime & Format: A single, complete film of around three hours — confirmed not to be split into multiple parts
  • Standout Sequence: A reported 30-minute battle sequence teased as one of the film's biggest highlights
  • Music: Background score by M.M. Keeravani, set to begin in September 2026 and take about five months
  • Viewing Format: Designed with IMAX presentation in mind, timed with IMAX's return to Hyderabad
  • Budget: Reportedly one of the most expensive Indian films ever made, at approximately ₹1,400 crore
  • Genre: Epic action-adventure spanning global locations and timelines
