Join India in commemorating Kargil Vijay Diwas 2025, observed annually on 26 July, marking the 26th anniversary of India’s victory in the 1999 Kargil War.
This solemn day honors the bravery and sacrifice of Indian soldiers who reclaimed strategic heights across the Kargil sector under Operation Vijay, culminating in a historic triumph on July 26, 1999.
Kargil Vijay Diwas pays tribute to national heroes such as Captain Vikram Batra, Lieutenant Manoj Pandey, and Grenadier Yogendra Singh Yadav and all the soldiers who gave their lives in the highest-altitude battlefield India faced .
In 2025, the Indian Army is unveiling three commemoration initiatives: the e‑Shradhanjali portal for digital homage, a QR‑based audio tour sharing war stories, and the Indus Viewpoint in the Batalik sector granting visitors a glimpse of the LoC.
Nationwide observances include wreath-laying at the Dras/Kargil War Memorial, patriotic events in schools and colleges with speeches, essays, and songs, and social media campaigns sharing inspirational messages, quotes, and stories of courage.
Kargil Vijay Diwas remains a powerful reminder of India’s unity, resilience, and the indomitable spirit of its armed forces.
