2006 ମସିହାରେ ମୁକ୍ତିଲାଭ କରିଥିବା ଏହି ଚଳଚ୍ଚିତ୍ରଟି ବ୍ୟବସାୟିକ ଭାବରେ ଅତ୍ୟନ୍ତ ସଫଳ ହୋଇଥିଲା । ଏହା ମୁକ୍ତିଲାଭ କରିବା ପରେ ଖୁବ୍ ଭଲ ବ୍ୟବସାୟ କରିଥିଲା ଏବଂ ସମଗ୍ର ବିଶ୍ୱରେ ପ୍ରାୟ ₹100 କୋଟିରୁ ଅଧିକ ଆୟ କରିଥିଲା, ଯାହା ସେ ସମୟରେ ଏକ ବଡ଼ ସଫଳତା ଥିଲା । ଚଳଚ୍ଚିତ୍ରର ବଜେଟ୍ ପ୍ରାୟ ₹25-30 କୋଟି ଥିଲା ।

ଏହି ଚଳଚ୍ଚିତ୍ରଟି କେବଳ ବ୍ୟବସାୟିକ ସଫଳତା ନୁହେଁ, ସମାଲୋଚକମାନଙ୍କ ଦ୍ୱାରା ମଧ୍ୟ ବେଶ୍ ପ୍ରଶଂସିତ ହୋଇଥିଲା । ଏହାର କାହାଣୀ, ନିର୍ଦ୍ଦେଶନା, ଅଭିନୟ ଏବଂ ସଙ୍ଗୀତକୁ ଖୁବ୍ ପସନ୍ଦ କରାଯାଇଥିଲା । ଏହା ଅନେକ ପୁରସ୍କାର ମଧ୍ୟ ଜିତିଥିଲା, ଯେପରିକି ଫିଲ୍ମଫେୟାର ପୁରସ୍କାର ଏବଂ ଜାତୀୟ ଚଳଚ୍ଚିତ୍ର ପୁରସ୍କାର । ଏହାକୁ ଭାରତରୁ ଓସ୍କାର ପୁରସ୍କାର ପାଇଁ ମଧ୍ୟ ପଠାଯାଇଥିଲା ।
