Kannada Sleeper Hit Premada Oorali Earns ₹10.36 Crore in Fifth Weekend

Summary: Kannada sleeper hit Premada Oorali added ₹10.36 crore in its fifth weekend, according to Sacnilk’s weekly South report.

Earlier this week it was reported to be just ₹7.63 crore short of ₹100 crore net, and it has reportedly entered the top 10 Kannada grossers worldwide.

Description : While big-budget releases fight for screens, Kannada film Premada Oorali keeps growing on word of mouth.

Sacnilk’s weekly South Indian report for October 23–25 described its fifth-weekend run as extraordinary, with ₹10.36 crore added over the weekend.

A report on October 23 said the film was only ₹7.63 crore away from ₹100 crore net. Koimoi’s Day 23 update said it overtook Kurukshetra to enter the top 10 Kannada grossers worldwide.

The same weekend report contrasted the film with Jailer 2, whose star power drives huge openings, and with Malayalam release Titans, which struggled to build on its opening.

Premada Oorali shows that steady audience support can matter as much as star power. If you publish this, check the latest net and gross totals on Sacnilk first.

One headline reported a figure above ₹111 crore, and the report didn’t make clear which measure that referred to.

Ranabaali Posts ₹63.65 Crore Worldwide in Week 1, Faces Tough Road to Break-Even

Summary: Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna’s period drama Ranabaali finished its first week with ₹52.55 crore India gross and ₹63.65 crore worldwide.

Mixed reviews, a slow start and the Jailer 2 wave have raised questions about whether the high-budget Telugu film can avoid a box office loss.

Description: Released on October 16, Ranabaali was billed as Vijay Deverakonda’s comeback after Kingdom. Directed by Rahul Sankrityan, the Telugu period action drama is set during the Madras Famine of 1876–78.

It is also the first release of Vijay and Rashmika Mandanna since their February 2026 marriage. It opened at roughly ₹16.5 crore worldwide gross.

That put it among Vijay’s top five openers, though well short of Kingdom, and its opening weekend closed near ₹36.9 crore worldwide. Sacnilk’s week-one tally stands at ₹52.55 crore India gross and ₹63.65 crore worldwide. Andhra Pradesh and Telangana supplied roughly 85% of the India gross through five days. Overseas numbers are a worry because the film was sold at the highest overseas price of Vijay’s career.

Reviews were mixed, and the background score has drawn criticism. Sacnilk still ranks it as the second-biggest October release among South Indian films worldwide, behind Jailer 2.

It also notes several career milestones despite a slower weekend hold. With the Dussehra holidays over, the weekday numbers in week two will largely decide whether Ranabaali recovers its cost.

Ranbir Kapoor’s Ramayana Eyes November 5 Worldwide Premiere for Extended Diwali Window

Cinematic Epic in the Making: Ranbir Kapoor’s Ramayana Eyes November 5 Worldwide Premiere for Extended Diwali Window

Summary

In what could be one of the largest global rollouts for Indian cinema, the creators of the magnum opus Ramayana—starring Ranbir Kapoor—are aiming for a pathbreaking worldwide release on November 5. By debuting pre-Diwali, the makers plan to leverage a massive extended holiday weekend across domestic and international markets. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari and mounted on a unprecedented scale, the two-part mythological saga promises a landmark theatrical experience.

Strategic Extended Holiday Strategy & Global Distribution Scale

Trade sources indicate that stakeholder alignment is underway to finalize a simultaneous day-and-date release across all global territories on November 5. Departing from traditional festive release strategies that typically target the day after Diwali, this strategy captures early holiday footfalls, giving the film a long runway to maximize box office potential.

The scale of production—co-produced by Namit Malhotra's Prime Focus Studios—combines state-of-the-art VFX with a star-studded cast. Featuring music by Academy Award winners A.R. Rahman and Hans Zimmer, the project is structured to set new benchmarks for Indian cinema on the global stage.

Key Highlights:

  • Extended Diwali Window: A November 5 launch provides an extended theatrical run, capitalising on multi-day festive holidays across major Indian circuits and key overseas centers.

  • Simultaneous Global Rollout: Plans are set for a synchronized day-and-date release across overseas markets alongside domestic screens in 3D and IMAX formats.

  • Ensemble Cast: Features Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravana, and Sunny Deol as Lord Hanuman.

  • World-Class Technical Unit: Helmed by Dangal director Nitesh Tiwari with visual effects spearheaded by DNEG and a soundtrack composed by A.R. Rahman and Hans Zimmer.

  • Two-Part Epic Saga: Ramayana: Part One sets up the grand narrative, with the second installment scheduled for a Diwali release.
