Nandamuri Balakrishna recived Padma Bhushan Award

Nandamuri Balakrishna, the renowned Telugu actor and politician, was conferred with the prestigious Padma Bhushan award on April 28, 2025.
President Droupadi Murmu presented the honor during a formal ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi.
Balakrishna, affectionately known as "Balayya" or "NBK," has had a prolific career spanning over five decades in Telugu cinema, with more than 100 films to his credit.
He is also a three-time elected Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) from the Hindupur constituency in Andhra Pradesh.
Beyond his contributions to cinema and politics, he serves as the Chairman of the Basavatarakam Indo-American Cancer Hospital and Research Institute in Hyderabad, which has been operational for over 15 years.
Expressing his gratitude, Balakrishna stated, "I am overjoyed. I am thankful to my fans and the Government of India. In 50 years of my career, my work as an MLA, my hospital is one of the five big hospitals in the country, and this is a matter of great joy. I thank everyone" .
However, the award has sparked some debate online.
