Pakistan Clinches T20I Series Against West Indies with a 13-Run Victory in the Decider

Lauderhill, Florida – Pakistan secured a hard-fought 2-1 victory in the three-match T20I series against the West Indies, holding their nerve to win the final match by 13 runs on Sunday.
A powerful opening partnership and disciplined bowling in the final overs ensured Pakistan's seventh consecutive series win over the Caribbean side in this format.
After being put into bat by West Indies captain Shai Hope, Pakistan's openers, Sahibzada Farhan and Saim Ayub, laid a formidable foundation with a magnificent 138-run stand.
Farhan was the aggressor, smashing 74 off 53 balls with five sixes and three fours, while Ayub contributed a well-made 66 from 49 deliveries.
Their efforts propelled Pakistan to a challenging total of 189 for 4 in their 20 overs.
In response, the West Indies started their chase aggressively, with openers Alick Athanaze and Jewel Andrew looking to take the game to the Pakistani bowlers.
However, the introduction of Haris Rauf saw the dismissal of Andrew for 24. Athanaze went on to score his maiden T20I fifty, keeping the hosts in the hunt.
Sherfane Rutherford also played a valiant innings, scoring a half-century to keep West Indies' hopes alive.
Despite their efforts, the required run rate continued to climb due to disciplined bowling from Pakistan's spinners in the middle overs.
The pressure mounted, leading to key dismissals, including that of Rutherford in the final over.
Ultimately, the West Indies could only manage 176 for 6, falling short of the target.
Pakistan's spinner Mohammad Nawaz was named the Player of the Series for his consistent performance, which included taking seven wickets at an average of 10.
The victory, however, was bittersweet for Pakistan as they lost opener Fakhar Zaman to a hamstring injury sustained during the second match. He will return home for rehabilitation and miss the upcoming ODI series.
