Keerthy Suresh revealed that Samantha recommended her for BABY JOHN

In an interview with a leading news portal, #KeerthySuresh revealed that #Samantha who features in #Theri, recommended her for #BabyJohn.

Keerthy Suresh recently revealed that her close friend Samantha Ruth Prabhu played a pivotal role in her casting for the Bollywood film Baby John.

In an interview with Galatta India, Keerthy shared that Samantha recommended her for the role, expressing confidence in her ability to portray the character. Keerthy stated, "She probably had me in mind when this was happening; that's what Varun also told me. I can't be grateful enough for that. It's so sweet of her to say, 'Keerthy will be able to pull off this character.'" 

Baby John is the Hindi remake of the 2016 Tamil film Theri, in which Samantha originally played the female lead. Keerthy Suresh expressed admiration for Samantha's performance in the original, noting, "Her performance in Theri is one of my favourites in Tamil. Honestly, I was very scared." 

Following the release of the Baby John trailer, Samantha continued to show her support. Keerthy recalled, "I remember her posting a story on Instagram after watching the trailer of Baby John, saying, 'I wouldn't have shared this one with anyone else, but you.' It was so sweet and meant a lot to me." 

Keerthy and Samantha previously co-starred in the 2018 Telugu period drama Mahanati, for which Keerthy received the National Award for Best Actress. 

Baby John, directed by Atlee, features Varun Dhawan in the lead role, with Keerthy Suresh making her Bollywood debut. The film also stars Jackie Shroff, Wamiqa Gabbi, and Rajpal Yadav.

Audience reactions have been varied. Some viewers praised Varun Dhawan's performance, stating he "killed it," while others felt that the remake lacks the feel of the original "Theri." 

Box Office Collections:

"Baby John" had a decent opening, earning approximately ₹11.25 crore on its first day. However, it experienced a significant drop on the second day, collecting around ₹4.75 crore, and continued to decline on the third day with ₹3.65 crore. By the fourth day, the film earned an additional ₹4.25 crore, bringing the total domestic collection to approximately ₹23.90 crore. 

Considering its reported budget of ₹160 crore, the film's current box office performance indicates that it needs a substantial increase in collections to recover its production costs.
