National Flag Adoption Day India – Celebrating the Pride and Legacy of the Tiranga 🇮🇳

National Flag Adoption Day in India is celebrated every year on July 22 to commemorate the adoption of the Indian National Flag, a symbol of the country’s pride, sovereignty, and unity. On this historic day in 1947, the Constituent Assembly of India officially adopted the tricolour flag, which later became the flag of the Republic of India.

The Indian National Flag, fondly called the Tiranga, consists of three horizontal stripes of saffron (courage and sacrifice), white (truth and peace) with the Ashoka Chakra (a 24-spoke wheel in navy blue), and green (faith and fertility). It represents the values, struggles, and aspirations of our freedom fighters and the spirit of independent India.

On National Flag Adoption Day, citizens pay tribute to the flag by remembering its history and saluting the ideals it stands for. Schools, institutions, and public spaces often conduct flag hoisting ceremonies, discussions, and educational programs to spread awareness about the significance of the Indian flag.

Let us take a moment to honour the Indian National Flag, a powerful emblem of our democratic values and unity in diversity.
Jai Hind! 🇮🇳
