Shah Rukh Khan's 'King' Postponed to Early 2027 After On-Set Injury

The much-anticipated action thriller "King," starring Shah Rukh Khan and his daughter Suhana Khan, has been postponed, with the makers now targeting an early 2027 release.

The delay comes after Khan sustained a shoulder injury while filming an intense action sequence for the movie.

Initially slated for a grand Gandhi Jayanti weekend release in October 2026, the shooting schedule has been disrupted to allow the superstar adequate time to recover.

Sources close to the production emphasized that with "King" being an action-heavy film, the team did not want to take any chances with the actor's health.

The film, directed by Siddharth Anand, had commenced its first schedule in Mumbai and was set for an international leg of shooting.

However, the production team has hit pause and is currently reworking the timeline for upcoming schedules.

Bookings made at the studio for July and August have reportedly been canceled to accommodate Khan's recovery period.

This project marks the first on-screen collaboration between Shah Rukh Khan and Suhana Khan, adding to the immense anticipation surrounding the film.

While the delay may be disappointing for fans, the priority for the filmmakers is ensuring Khan's full recovery before he returns to the demanding action sequences planned for the movie.

The injury is reportedly a muscular strain, and he has sought precautionary treatment in the US.
