Gandhari Enters Top 3 Netflix Films of 2026

Taapsee Pannu's Gandhari has pulled off a remarkable streaming turnaround, climbing into the top 3 most-viewed Netflix Original Indian films of 2026 in just its second week on the platform.

The action-thriller, which released on Netflix on September 3, 2026, opened with 5.9 million views and 11.5 million viewing hours in its debut week, securing the No. 3 spot on the platform's global non-English chart at the time.

The real story, however, is Week 2. As per Netflix's official viewership data for September 7–13, 2026, Gandhari surged 62.7% to rack up 9.6 million views and 18.7 million viewing hours, propelling it to No. 1 on the global non-English films chart.

The film trended in the top 10 non-English list across 58 countries and topped the charts outright in 17, including Brazil, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, and Morocco. In India, it held the No. 4 spot in the same week.

The milestone is especially notable because Gandhari had a mixed critical reception during its theatrical run.

Directed by Devashish Makhija and written and produced by Kanika Dhillon, the mother-on-a-mission thriller has instead found its audience decisively on OTT, with strong word-of-mouth reportedly driving a wave of global catch-up viewing in its second week.

Taapsee, who plays the lead, reacted to the numbers on social media on September 16, sharing the Netflix chart data — widely seen as a response to the film's earlier critics.

For Taapsee, the milestone also marks her third Netflix collaboration with Kanika Dhillon after Haseen Dillruba and its sequel, and it cements her position as one of Hindi cinema's leading female-fronted action performers of the year.

Viewership figures cited are as reported via Netflix's official Tudum data and covered by trade outlets; Kirakposter will update this story if further weekly figures are released.
