Kanguva Tamil film Enters Oscars Eligibility List

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has released its list of 207 feature films eligible for the Best Picture category at the 97th Academy Awards. Among these are six Indian films, including the Tamil-language "Kanguva," starring Suriya.

The other Indian films on the eligibility list are:

"Aadujeevitham" (The Goat Life) (Hindi)

"Santosh" (Hindi)

"Swatantrya Veer Savarkar" (Hindi)

"All We Imagine as Light" (Malayalam-Hindi)

"Girls Will Be Girls" (Hindi-English)

Voting for nominations is scheduled to begin on January 8, 2025, and conclude on January 12, 2025. The final nominations will be announced on January 17, 2025. The Oscars ceremony is set for March 2, 2025, at the Dolby Theatre in Ovation Hollywood.

It's important to note that being on the eligibility list does not guarantee a nomination; it signifies that the films meet the criteria for consideration. The final nominations will be determined through the upcoming voting process.
