Huma Qureshi's Cousin Stabbed to Death in Delhi Over Parking Dispute; Two Arrested
New Delhi: Asif Qureshi, the 42-year-old cousin of Bollywood actor Huma Qureshi, was tragically stabbed to death on Thursday night following a dispute over a parking space in the Nizamuddin area of South East Delhi.
Police have arrested two brothers, Ujjwal, 19, and Gautam, 18, in connection with the murder.
The fatal altercation occurred at around 10 pm on Church Lane in Bhogal, where Asif Qureshi resided.
According to police and eyewitness accounts, the dispute began when Qureshi objected to the two men parking their scooter in front of his main gate, blocking the entrance.
Huma Qureshi's father, Saleem Qureshi, told the media that his nephew had asked the men to move their vehicle, which led to a verbal argument that quickly escalated.
The two men reportedly left after the initial confrontation but returned shortly after.
CCTV footage reportedly shows the accused grabbing Asif by the collar before one of them stabbed him in the chest with a sharp, pointed object, described by some sources as a poker or an ice pick.
Qureshi's wife, Sainaz, was present and tried to intervene.
Asif Qureshi, who was in the business of supplying non-vegetarian food, was rushed to a nearby hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
His family has stated that there had been previous disputes with the accused over the same parking issue.
The Delhi Police have registered a case of murder and have recovered the weapon used in the crime.
The investigation is ongoing.
