High Court Dismisses Netflix And Nayanthara’s Plea Against Dhanush

 The Madras High Court has dismissed an application filed by Netflix India seeking to reject actor Dhanush's copyright infringement lawsuit against actress Nayanthara, her husband Vignesh Shivan, and their production company, Rowdy Pictures Private Limited. Dhanush's suit alleges unauthorized use of visuals from his film "Naanum Rowdy Dhaan" in the Netflix documentary "Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairytale." 

Netflix India had contended that the suit should be filed in Kancheepuram, where Dhanush's production house is registered, and argued that there was no urgency since the documentary had already been released. The court, however, dismissed these arguments and retained jurisdiction over the case. 

The court has scheduled further hearings for the first week of February to consider Dhanush's request for an interim injunction against the documentary. 

In response to Dhanush's legal action, Nayanthara criticized him in an open statement, expressing disappointment over his refusal to consent to the use of visuals from "Naanum Rowdy Dhaan" in her documentary.
